The idea of a single-cup coffee maker with a grinder sounds amazing, doesn’t it? You can grind up coffee beans and immediately make fresh coffee. Also, if you live alone then a single-serve coffee maker would suit you best.

However, there are a few issues you may run into.

I’ve outlined a few different options that might suit someone looking for a single-serve coffee machine with a grinder. As well as all-in-one options, it’s worth considering getting a separate coffee maker and grinder because that doesn’t necessarily cost more! Continue reading to see what I am talking about.

My Recommendations for the Best Option

Do you want a straightforward, direct answer without going through all the headings?

Well then, personally, I would go for Cuisinart DGB-400 since it’s the newest, compact, and reasonably priced machine that does its functions best.

If you want to form your own opinion by going through all the possible options then read to check out the best coffee makers with a grinder.

Truly Single Cup Coffee Maker with Grinder

The truth is that there are very few options in the market that are actually only single-serve and don’t offer brewing multiple cups at a time.

Even the ones that are available, have quite a lot of problems. Based on the Amazon reviews, people aren’t happy with their purchases either.

I am still listing a few relatively good options that you can try if you absolutely need to get a single-cup machine. However, continue reading further down the article for other options that may suit you better.

Mr. Coffee Grind and Brew

The Mr Coffee Grind & Brew from Walmart has mediocre reviews (average 3.8/5 stars) and has been discontinued. But, if you have to, then you could get a second-hand version.

It gives you the option to grind your coffee beans then use those grounds to brew coffee. Also, you can start off with whatever grounds you already have. It is easy to clean and includes a travel mug as well.

However, people have complained about it not filtering the grounds properly so they end up in your cup.

Cuisinart

Cuisinart DGB-1 is rated 4.4 stars but with just 16 ratings.

The rating is pretty high and the product does what it is supposed to do.

But the reality is that this has been discontinued by Cuisinart. It is only available as a refurbished item on Amazon. That’s not to say that getting refurbished is a bad idea. But, I think it speaks volumes when a product has been discontinued.

Coffee Machines with a Single Serve Option

These include machines that are equipped with a built-in grinder but don’t only make single-cup coffees.

I believe that these are a better option to pick considering their many pros. If you want to stick to making single-serve then you can choose to do that instead of filling up the entire carafe that would go to waste.

The best ones include:

GEVI

Gevi 10-Cup Drip Coffee Maker is rated 4 stars with almost 1000 ratings.

It’s not exactly a single-serve though, as it makes 2 to 10 cups of coffee. It allows 8 settings of the type of grind you want. It also has an LED screen with 24-hour programmability. Furthermore, it gives the option to select the intensity and strength of your brew.

All in all, it is a great machine but there are a few issues with its short lifespan.

If it’s really important to you to have a 1-cup option though, keep reading for other alternatives.

Cuisinart

Cuisinart is a strong leading brand in the world of coffee makers so it makes sense that it has some wonderful options.

Its machines also come with a 3-year warranty.

Cuisinart DGB-550BKP1 is given 4.3 stars from an average of over 6000 ratings.

You can brew 1-4 cups of coffee by selecting that option. Or you can brew a full 12-cup carafe with this machine. It has a Brew Pause setting that allows you to pour your coffee in the middle of a brew cycle. Auto Shutoff is also one of its features.

Its metal Italian styling gives it a more aesthetic look too.

Cuisinart DGB-400 has 4.4 stars with only a handful of ratings since it’s a newer product.

It is the latest Cuisinart version and so is a huge improvement. It has all the features of the one above but better. The grinder works remarkably well and filters out the grounds too.

But it can be fairly loud.

Other Options You can Look for

From my research, it seems that it is difficult to get a good machine that does both things well; grind and brew. Many brands have tried it but they have not been up to the mark.

There are two other options you can go with.

Freshly Ground Coffee + Single Serve Coffee Maker

The first is that you can just get freshly ground coffee from your favorite place. Then, use a single-serve coffee maker that uses ground coffee and not pods. You can choose from Hamilton Beach to Keurig, whichever one you like.

Separate Coffee Grinder + Single Serve Coffee Maker

The second option is getting a separate grinder and a separate single-serve coffee maker. You will need a bit more space to place both machines. But contrary to what you think, it wouldn’t cost you more. In fact, it just may cost you less or at least equal to if you were getting a machine that does more.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, by the end of this article, you have an idea of which single cup coffee maker with a grinder would be best for you. Or maybe you have decided that you want two separate machines.

All you have to do now is place your order! Then sit back and relax with a freshly ground and brewed cup of coffee every morning.
